Starting January 3, 2012, government agencies needed to facilitate business registration and licensing will be operating in a one-stop shop at the Olongapo City Hall.

These agencies are the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG Fund, Bureau of Internal Revenue and Social Security System, which will be working closely with the city governments Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO).

Olongapo Mayor James “Bonga” Gordon, Jr. offered the city hall facilities to house the mandatory agencies covered by the DTl’S National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center (NERBAC) to ensure that business registration requirements are promptly provided and processed.

“Streamlining transaction flows not only makes the process easier but also reduces the cost of doing business” Mayor Gordon noted, stressing that “we expect this to translate into greater economic activity and more significant economic growth.”

With the NERBAC working side-by-side with the BPLO, the government would be able to provide a one-stop action center to facilitate the processing and documentation of al paper requirements necessary for the establishment of a business enterprise in the city.

The Olongapo city government was recently conferred the prestigious “Most Business Friendly LGU” award by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
