SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — With most parts of the country still reeling from the Wuhan Virus (COVID-19) Pandemic, this year’s Subic Bay International Film Festival (SBIFF) will go virtual, the annual event’s Festival Directors have announced.

According to Festival Directors Vic V. Vizcocho, Jr. and Arlyn dela Cruz, the SBIFF, now on its 3rd year, will push through but has been moved to August, instead of June, taking into consideration the current restrictions in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

“We will proceed with the filmfest,” Vizcocho said, “the free film showing and awarding ceremonies will be online.”

“We are adopting the practice in similar events in most parts of the world due to the pandemic,” Dela Cruz said “the 3rd SBIFF would be a virtual festival of selected films in competition for major awards.
