GNPD contributes to create a beneficial environmental impact

(24th Technical Forum: “Philippine Coal Plants: Coping Up with Climate Change”)

GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co (GNPD) truly makes its commitment to the environment. With that, the company participated in the 24th Philippine Coal Plant User’s Group (PCPUG) forum with the theme “Philippine Coal Plants: Coping Up with Climate Change” on April 27-28, 2023, at Seda Vertis Hotel in Quezon City. The event was attended by 19 coal power plants throughout the country and 270 individuals, all of whom shared the same goal of finding ways to mitigate the impact of coal power plants on the environment.
GNPD is a prominent player in the Philippines’ energy sector, operating the country’s largest coal-fired power plant. The company shares the use of advanced technology in its coal power plant operations. Furthermore, GNPD’s state-of-the-art facilities and innovation allow for more efficient and clean energy production. This results in lower emissions and a reduced impact on the environment.
The company gave emphasis to its efforts toward reforestation initiatives and corporate social responsibilities. As well, recognizes the need to balance energy production with environmental protection. As such, it has implemented programs that help the environment and the community.
GNPD Plant Manager, Anton Besaris shares his insights about, “Energizing Power through P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S.”, to show the company’s approach to energy generation, technical side, and how it is contributing to the environment and community. The flagship P.R.O.G.R.E.S.S. stands for – Protect marine life, Reforest Land, Optimize wealth from waste, Generate livelihood skills and income, Rehabilitate social infrastructure, Elevate educational opportunities, Safeguard quality health access, and Strengthen disaster resiliency.
GNPD has fueled community programs that aim to contribute to the environment’s cultivation. These programs include initiatives to promote reforestation, waste management, and environmental conservation. The company is also working with local communities to support sustainable livelihood and scholarship programs, helping improve the lives of people in the region.
