Some Sixty One Aeta kids of Brgy. Iram, New Cabalan received the SM ‘bears of joy’ from the staff of SM Olongapo recently. The “Bears of Joy” was launched last December to make the less fortunate kids happy and appreciate the irresistible, soft and cuddly features of the world’s most loved toys, teddy bear.

The “Bears of Joy” program encourages the shoppers to buy a pair of teddy bear for P200, one for the customer and the other one to be given to a selected charitable institution or to less fortunate children across the country.

Through the help of IPMR, (Indigenous People Mandatory Representative) recipients of ‘bears of joy’ were named. IPMR chairman of Olongapo Igmedio Gonzales was so grateful to SM for always taking into consideration the Aeta community as one of the top beneficiaries in their projects. “We look forward to more projects with SM,” he added.

SM Olongapo would like to give credits not only to their volunteer employees but also to their loyal customers for purchasing the bears of joy which have made many children smile.

The SM ‘Bears of Joy’ is a project of SM Cares, a division of SM Foundation and the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in partnership with Toy Kingdom.(PR-SMOL)
