212 Subic residents given free chest x-ray

SUBIC, Zambales, — About 212 residents of Subic, Zambales has so far benefitted from the free chest x-ray of United States Agency for International Development’s TB Platforms Project (USAID’s TB Platforms).

Subic is the first local government in Central Luzon to integrate COVID-19 vaccination and TB screening activities.

“Through this, health workers encouraged the community members to avail of the free chest x-ray and report if any member of the household is experiencing symptoms of TB for proper diagnosis and treatment amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” Subic Municipal Health Officer Nadj Ngilay said.

“In behalf of our Mayor Jon Khonghun and the people of Subic, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to USAID with their TB case finding program particularly the mobile x-ray,” he added.

The free chest x-ray continues for the entire month of June with the municipal government aiming at least 200 beneficiaries per day.

Ngilay noted that this program must be practiced by other municipalities and cities in the region. (PIA 3)
