4 Health Awards for Olongapo City
Olongapo City earned four (4) awards from the Department of Health in recognition of its its sound health program.
Mayor Rolen Paulino said the awards were for Zero Cases of Rabies for Five years, LGU reaching cases detection rate to 85%, particularly tuberculosis, Implementation of Total Firework ban and an award for the containment of leptospirosis cases.
“We very much treasure this kind of awards which show that we are very serious in what we are doing in the city regarding people’s health,” Paulino said.
Paulino, with Dr. Jewel Manuel, administrator of James L Gordon Memorial Hospital (JLGMH), Dr. Rodrick Bustamante, head of the City Health Office and Angie Layug of the city’s Risk Reduction Management Office, received the awards at Holiday Inn., Pampanga.
“Masaya kami ni Dr. Manuel, dahil pinaghirapan natin ang mga award na yan. Fulfillment sa part namin at ni Mayor Paulino dahil kahit papaano ay na re-recognise ang pagtratrabaho natin sa syudad sa ilalim ng bagong administrasyon,” Bustamante said.
The award was handed over by no less than DOH region 3 Director Dr. Leonita Gorgolon, witnessed by other DOH officials.
