SM DONATE A BOOK PROJECT

SM invites shoppers to share the gift of knowledge with the less fortunate children in its Donate a Book campaign.
A joint project of the SM Store and SM Stationery in partnership with SM Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Donate a Book aims to develop an interest for reading, as well as to improve functional literacy, and enhance comprehension and creative skills among students and out-of-school youth.
For this purpose, it has set up Donate a Book booths at all SM Stores where shoppers can share their old books, or buy new books or schools supplies to donate from May 1 to June 30, 2014. Cash donations are also welcome.
All donors are entitled to P50 off coupon to be redeemed with minimum single receipt purchase worth P500 from SM Stationery valid until June 30, 2015.
Donate a Book was recently launched at SM Megamall with children from the Nayon ng Kabataan Foundation as the project’s first beneficiaries.
SM Store EVP for Operations Cielo Monasterio, SM Foundation Inc. Executive Director Connie Angeles, Supplies Station Inc. Merchandising head Mylin Valencia together with DSWD NCR Assistant Regional Director Prescila Villa took part in the heartwarming ceremony, happily handing books and school supplies from Stationery to the delighted kids.
Many more less fortunate children from DSWD and SM Foundation accredited beneficiaries nationwide will receive books and school supplies from SM and SM Stationery.
Book donations may be brought to SM Olongapo Department Store. For inquiries, please call 602-0025(SM Store Olongapo) or 602-0013 to 15(SCMC Admin. Olongapo).
