IBA, Zambales — Around 900 students in select public schools in the province recently received school supplies from National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Beneficiaries were from Naugsol Elementary School in Subic; Pangolingan Elementary School in Palauig; Luan Elementary School in barangay Lipay, Palauig; and Santiago Elementary School in Botolan.

“The distribution is part of our Balik Eskwela project which intends to give back to our host communities or areas where we have transmission facilities,” NGCP Central Luzon Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Officer Ernest Lorenz Vidal said.

NGCP earlier donated 100 armchairs each to Pangolingan and Luan.

“Apart from Zambales, similar distribution activities was likewise done in host communities in Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, and Tarlac,” Vidal added.

NGCP is a privately owned corporation in charge of operating, maintaining and developing the country’s power grid.

It transmits high-voltage electricity through “power superhighways” that include the interconnected system of transmission lines, towers, substations and related assets. (PIA 3)
