SM’s Medical Mission for Seniors, PWDs & Children


Some One Thousand, Six Hundred Forty Eight (1648) patients were given medical services in the two-day Medical Mission of SM Foundation on September 11 and 12. The successful mission at SM City Olongapo and Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Center in Brgy. Pag-asa have served a total of 873 and 775 patients respectively.
Dubbed as “Gamot Para sa Kapwa”, this year’s activity headed by SM Foundation Sr. Project Manager Dr. Rorie Siasoco with the participation of Kapwa ko, Mahal Ko Foundation, Inc. aimed at helping less fortunate indigent families by providing basic health services and positive insights in coping with difficulties in life.
Services include medical checkup and treatment, blood pressure checkup, urine test, ECG, X-ray, eye check-up, foot screening and bone density scan.
Apart from the medical services, free medicines for common illnesses and vitamins were also distributed to patients, as prescribed by doctors.
SM foundation partnered with the City Social Welfare and Development Office which helped identify indigent families, Philippine Red Cross Olongapo Chapter , James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, Olongapo City Medical Society, Watsons, Ideal Vision, Metro Subic Colleges, Gordon College volunteer doctors and nurses and barangay health volunteers.
“Gamot Para sa Kapwa” is conducted yearly to every provincial malls and its barangay health center counterpart, the Felicidad T. Sy Wellness Center.
