BALIC-BALIC FOOTBALL TEAM COMMENDED

Olongapo City- Olongapo Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr. commended the football team of a public elementary school here for their outstanding performance in four football tournaments held this year in Metro Manila and Luzon.
Mayor Gordon also gave a P 10,000.00 incentive reward to the Golden Kickers from Balic-Balic Elementary School, whose latest achievement was their third place finish in the 12 under category in the recently concluded Cordillera Goshen Land Football Club (CGLFC) held at Brent International School Baguio and Benguet-State University, Trinidad last April 28-30 and May 1.
The Golden Kickers also placed 2nd in the Jose V. Yap Sr. Cup held at Tarlac City last March 24, 2012; emerged as a champion in the Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Football Cup last February 4, 2012 and placed 2nd in the 9th DLSZ Football Festival held in Ayala, Alabang last January 28, 2012.
Mayor Gordon gave the assurance that he will continue to support sports development and “the youth of our city, like the Golden Kickers, who continue to fight for excellence and earn honors for Olongapo through the feats they have achieved in the football field.”
“ Patuloy nating palalawakin ang ating mga programa at susuportahan ang mga Olongapenong nais mag-excel sa larangan ng sports,” Mayor Gordon stressed at the weekly assembly of city government employees right after the Monday flag ceremony.
He also announced the upcoming boxing matches that the OCABA (Olongapo City Amateur Boxing Association) will be holding this month.
Sports is among the top priorities of Mayor Gordon in his HELPS program, his administration’s major development and service agenda.HELPS stands for Health, Education, Livelihood, Peace and Order, Sports and Social Service.
