Bartolome wins Zambales Off-Road Challenge
Twenty-five-year old Noel Bartolome, Jr. dominated all three tracks in the 2nd Gov. Jun Ebdane 4×4 Offroad Challenge held at Bgy. Sindol, San Felipe, Zambales recently.
“I am very proud of this victory, I wasn’t expecting much to dominate here,” said Bartolome of the Land Rover Club of the Philippines.
The young Bartolome bested seasoned and much older driver opponents which included his popular father Noel, Sr.
His total time 34:44.23 for Tracks A, B & C was enough to clinch the title. Angeles City 4Wheel Drive Club’s Arthur Sicat clinched second overall with 46:57.12 and Pampanga Offroaders Club’s John Sambo third with 52:16.13.
“We had aimed both at entertaining the local and tourist spectators, and provide a much-needed boost to our local tourism industry. And we achieved both. Congratulations to the organizers and everyone behind this project. And congratulations of course to all the racers—winners or losers,” said Governor Jun Ebdane.
Also present during the event was Zambales 2nd District Congressman Omar Ebdane and San Felipe town Mayor Caroline Fariñas.
