Subic Welcomes More U.S. Ships, Submarines

MORE U.S. SHIPS AND SUBMARINES. With the Subic International Airport (SBIA) as backdrop, the American submarine USS Ohio approaches Alava Pier in this photo taken in March by Subic Bay News publisher Vic V. Vizcocho, Jr.

The USS Ohio is expected to make a second vist to Subic this year on June 14 to 19, joining the U.S. guided missile-cruiser USS Chosin, which will dock on June 12.

The Submarine tender USS Frank Cable and submarine USS Ashville also docked in Subic Bay over the weekend.

Businessmen and residents of the Subic Freeport, Olongapo City, Zambales and other outlying communities always welcome the arrival of U.S. Navy vessels because they perk up local businesses with millions of pesos surely infused into the local economy with each visit. (SBN/VVV)
