Elevator Girl Makes Waves

Who would ever imagine that an ordinary elevator girl would become famous for her unique spiel? She never thought that her style will be that popular.
Positive comments flooded the social networking sites for her one of a kind customer service and bubbly personality. “I’m doing this, because I love my job,” Cheridel Alejandrino or “Cheri” humbly said in an interview. “That’s my normal voice.” .
Those who have seen her at work find her style humorous and infectious. The laughter she brings inside the elevator is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness.
“Good job, she’s a good example of a dedicated employee.” “Hi ma’am nakakawala po kayo ng stress sa mga tao”, “Sobra mo kaming pinasaya, sana lahat ng elevator girl kagaya mo, hindi boring,” said some of the comments on her You Tube video.
Cheri, 27 as her friends fondly call her, started as a day-off and breaktime reliever, and was elevated as a fulltime elevator attendant at SM City Olongapo just recently. She hails from Laguna with 8 siblings and being the 6 in family, she was not able to pursue her education in college and had to work at a very young age.

Her initiative had paid off after the video exposure, now, the subject that everyone is talking about. As a result, the elevator where Cheri operates is always packed with customers wanting to see her and listen to her spiel. On top of it all, local, national and foreign media are taking turns interviewing her.
‘We don’t doubt that she eventually grew passionate about her job. She loves what she does and that tells us that its good to enjoy what we do. Perhaps the only lesson for this is we should find work that we will eventually love and be happy with it. As they say, the secret of happiness is to make others believe they are the cause of it,’ an SM Olongapo statement said. (SMOL PR with edits)
