Zambales Again Wins Best PESO Award

The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Zambales has made another mark of success after being awarded for the 2nd time as the National BEST PESO (2nd Class Province Category) based on the 2012 performance evaluation with special distinction cum the very 1st Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary’s Award for its dedication in the implementation of programs and services of the department.

This was shared by Vice Governor/ Provincial PESO Manager Ramon G. Lacbain II together with the Zambales Association of PESO Managers, Inc.  who witnessed the awarding ceremony during the 13th National PESO Congress on Sept. 25-27 at Oriental Hotel, Palo, Leyte.

Vice Gov. Lacbain, said that the prestigious awards most especially the Secretary’s Award is an attribution of progressive performance with the full institutionalization of the Municipal PESOs in the 13 towns of Zambales which made way in bringing employment services closest to the community.

“Under the leadership of Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. with our local executives and Municipal PESO Managers, Zambales was not only recognized as country’s best but also recognized to be the first province in the Philippines to institutionalize all its local PESOs.” said Vice Gov. Lacbain.

Lacbain mentioned some of the many activities of PESO to further boost its employment and livelihood programs. Some of which include the Zambales Employment Enhance Program (ZEEP)-an innovation to enhance employability and experience; the OWWA Migrant Desk for our OFWs and their families; the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES); Passport Pre-processing assistance; Jobs Fairs and recruitment activities; the Zambalenews Media Outfit that brings information for Zambales folks;  Career Guidance Coaching (CGC); Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS); and other livelihood and education opportunities.

“We are already on this way of continuing success. Our inspiration will be our province mates who are there to support our programs and activities. With Governor Ebdane on its helm, and with our PESO team all over the province, we will strive for more innovative ways to help our folks finally land a job or create jobs through business.” said Lacbain.
