Logos Hope back in Subic
Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair returned to Subic Bay and opened to the public from 14 – 16 June 2013.
Last year the ship received more than 72,000 visitors before entering its 8 month dry dock phase. Originally, the ship was meant to sail from San Fernando to Puerto Princesa.
However, due to unexpected repairs and maintenance work, the ship berthed in Alava Wharf for a short time before her departure. “It was an unexpected return, but in some ways it feels like coming back home” says crew member George Simpson from United Kingdom.
Logos Hope offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, and family life. With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more, the book fair is something the whole family can enjoy.
Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience deck was also opened for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the new vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale.
