MURDER CHARGES AGAINST THE KILLERS OF “AIKA”
Murder charges have been filed today against two (2) suspects in the brutal killing of a 23-year-old woman found dead on a dike along Sto. Tomas River in San Felipe, Zambales on Saturday.
Charged before the Zambales Prosecutors’ Office were Jonathan Dwayne Ciocon Viane, a 29-year-old Fil-Am from Anchorage, Alaska and Niño Dela Cruz of Subic, Zambales.
“We were able to crack the case after the suspect’s 17-year-old girlfriend turned witness through the help of Olongapo Mayor Rolen Paulino,” San Felipe Chief of Police Insp. Rolando Ballon told Subic Bay News. “She positively identified Viane and Dela Cruz as the killers of Karieces “Aika” De Dios Mojica,” he added.

In a sworn statement, the witness said she arranged for a meeting between Viane and the victim to discuss the former’s conflict with his ex-wife Liane Ramilla, now living in Illinois, USA, over the custody of their child.
Viane allegedly brought the child to the Philippines a few months ago without his wife’s knowledge and consent. The victim was helping Liane to locate Viane and recover and bring their child back to the US.

From a night out with several friends, according to the witness, shortly before 3AM on 25 July, she accompanied the victim to 16th St. near a gas station where Viane arrived on a car with Dela Cruz on board at the back seat.
She said Dela Cruz opened the door and had the victim board the car. The witness then allegedly walked away to her house nearby, unaware that that would be the last time she would see the victim alive.
Hours later, Aika’s body was found by farmers in San Felipe, Zambales with 3 bullet wounds on the back of her bonnet-covered head and partial burns on her body.
The witness said that at around 7:30 AM, she was awakened by a phone call from Viane, asking her to go with him to Pampanga. Viane arrived to fetch her on the same car.
While on the car, she allegedly asked Viane what happened to his meeting with Aika and he answered by running his fingers across his throat, indicating that Aika has been killed. The witness said, she asked again and got the same answer from Viane, who assured her: “…wag mong alalahanin dahil malinis ang pagkakagawa” (…don’t worry, it was a clean job).
They went to the house of Viane’s aunt, a certain “Tita Taba” in Bgy. San Isidro, Subic where, the witness said, the suspect allegedly became panicky, hysterical and remorseful on what he had done.
They headed to Pamatawan, Subic, Zambales to fetch Dela Cruz, his wife Erica and father. After dropping-off dela Cruz’ father at Bgy. Wawandue, Subic, they proceeded to Pampanga where Viane pawned his necklace and gave some of the money to Dela Cruz who got off the car with his wife at the Victory Liner Bus Station.
Both suspects are now the subject of a manhunt and a request for a Hold Departure Order against Viane, who reportedly is set to leave the Philippines on Wednesday, 29 July 2015, has been sent to the Bureau of Immigration.
Contrary to speculations, according to Insp. Ballon, there is no indication that the victim has been raped. “We never mentioned of rape in any report so, please, do not unnecessarily add up to the anguish of the grieving family,” Ballon appealed to the media and social media users.
“This is a case of personal hatred or vendetta,” said Insp. Ballon, “not drug-related as some people allege.” (VVV)
