Olongapo – Zambales Industrial Tripartite Council for Education
OLONGAPO CITY — Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has established the Olongapo-Zambales Industrial Tripartite Council for Education (OZ-ITCE) in a bid to maintain a harmonious working environment amongst labor, management, and government in the sector.
In its organizational meeting that was participated in by 23 schools, DOLE Provincial Director Rima Hernandez discussed her agency’s public-private partnership approach to fostering a peaceful work environment via the Tripartite Industrial Peace Council including its legal basis, functions, and composition.
“Industrial peace is our primordial concern. Through tripartism, school owners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and government will be able to work closely in addressing labor issues and concerns faced by the education industry,” Hernandez emphasized.
Participants underwent a workshop on the drafting of a Voluntary Code of Good Practices.”The code was developed to serve as a guide for self-governance and self-regulation. It was also meant to further enhance tripartite engagement of social partners in the industry,” Hernandez added.
Serving as the highlight of the occasion was the election of the first officers of OZ-ITCE.
Hernandez was elected as Chair, Narcisa Figuerres of Magsaysay Memorial College and Evelyn Manzano of Central Luzon College of Science and Technology as Vice-Chairs for Management, Marites Ragadio of St. Nicolas Academy and Gracita Miclat of St. Benilde as Vice-Chairs for Labor, and Rafael Mora of Columban College as Treasurer.
