PhilHealth 20th anniversary run-for-a-cause

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT– Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) invites residents of Central Luzon to take part in its 20th anniversary nationwide run-for-a-cause on February 15, 2015 which shall be held in 13 sites including Remy Field inside Subic Bay Freeport.

Billed as “PhilHealth: Ready, TSeKap, Go!” the event seeks to drumbeat the state owned-firm’s contribution to the Kalusugang Pangkalahatan vision of President Aquino as well as increase public awareness on health care benefits and services it provides to members.

“This is open to all Filipinos and even to non-Filipinos who are in good health condition. Categories include 3K (Kiddie), 3K (Adult), 5K (Male), 5K (Female), 10K (Male), 10K (Female), 20K (Male), and 20K (Female),” PhilHealth Regional Vice President Lolita Tuliao said.

Registration fees are peg at P300 for the 3K (inclusive of singlet and race kit), P500 for 5K (inclusive of singlet, race kit, and timing chip), P600 for 10K (inclusive of singlet, race kit, and timing chip), and P800 for 20K (inclusive of singlet, race kit, timing chip, and finisher’s medal).

“Proceeds from our run in Subic shall go to AMOR Village in Tarlac, Home for Girls-Tarlac; Barangay Health Station in Cozo, Casiguran, Aurora; Gerona Office for the Differently-Abled Person (GODAP) in Tarlac; and Munting Tahanan ng Nazareth Inc. in Mabalacat City,” Tuliao added.

Those who are interested are advised to download the registration form at run2015.philhealth.gov.ph or visit any of their regional or local health insurance offices. Registration period is until February 7, 2015.

To mark the 100-day countdown to the event, PhilHealth held Friday a simultaneous tree growing activity in 11 sites in Central Luzon namely barangay Bagbaguin in Sta. Maria, Bulacan; Balagtas-Busto Bypass Road in Plaridel, Bulacan; barangay Ramada in Maria Aurora, Aurora; barangay Sta. Cruz in Gapan City; Megadike area in Porac, Pampanga; barangay Bacao in Palayan City; barangay San Rafael in San Marcelino, Zambales; barangay San Juan in Botolan, Zambales; barangay Tuyo in Balanga City; Camp Servillano Aquino in Tarlac City; and Dolores Elementary School in the City of San Fernando.

Aside from Subic, other race sites are the cities of Quezon, Baguio, Dagupan, Tuguegarao, Lucena, Lipa, Naga, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Davao, and Koronadal. (PIA 3)
