Zambales Graduates Face Brighter Future

In time when students take a new leap after graduation, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Zambales set arms to lead high schools and college students through its intensive career outlook orientations which include Pre-Employment Orientation Seminars (PEOS), Career Guidance Coaching (CGCs), Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) and Anti Illegal Recruitment and Trafficking In Person (AIRTIP) seminar.

Starting on January and still, PESO Zambales has already recorded 1305 students benefiting from CGCs and 564 students for LEGS, PEOS and AIRTIP.

Vice Governor Ramon G. Lacbain II who is concurrent Provincial PESO Manager explains the program as a preparatory mechanism imparting guidelines and strategies based on labor standards with DOLE’s “Jobs Fit 2020 vision”.

“We wanted a clearer outlook for our students as they decide for their future—whether for high school students to engage in a course in college that awaits demands in employment or our college graduates to be fully aware of the employment system and their rights as part of the work force.” says Vice Gov. Lacbain.

PESO Zambales has recorded these dates as they conduct the ongoing career outlook orientations this 2014. In may be noted that last year, PESO Zambales also conducted CGCs with 9, 603 beneficiaries and 3, 737 participants for LEGS and PEOS.

Meanwhile, PESO Zambales has been coordinating with every high schools and tertiary institutions in the province for the conduct of the same seminars.

 

CAREER FOCUS

 

The latest labor market study “Project Jobs Fit: DOLE 2020 Vision” projected the in-demand occupations that will generate employment.

 

Focusing on this trend, Vice Gov. Lacbain in cooperation with the DOLE Zambales magnifies these opportunities through career outlook orientations.

He mentioned that labor market information (LMI) shows key in-demand industries—the Agribusiness, Cyber services, Hotel/Restaurant/Medical Tourism, Health and Wellness. Banking and Finance, Manufacturing, Whole and Retail, Real/Retirement Estate and Overseas employment.

“These key industries, as DOLE’s study projected to be the source of growth in employment, will definitely guide our students of choosing career path.” Vice Gov. Lacbain told student participants in the latest conduct of CGC in Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (RMTU) Iba Campus. “These industries awaits jobs for our future work force, so our students will be aware of what they should consider upon taking a course in college or upon finding opportunities, because we will be more than happy to not only see them graduate from school but also see them already employed.” he added.

Meanwhile, aside from the trend, PESO Zambales and DOLE Zambales imparted to students employment strategies such as creating proper resume’, tips during interview, job hunting techniques, avoiding illegal recruitment and labor rights.
