Zambales PESO trains guidance counselors

Around 62 teachers from public and private secondary schools in Zambales recently attended a training for Career Guidance Coaching (CGC) organized by provincial Public Employment Services Office (PESO) in partnership with the department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Education (DepEd).

Attendees learned basic protocols of coaching including career and value enhancement, work attitude, and trends in employment.  “Career coaching plays a role of leading our students to magnify better opportunities ahead. Through CGC, we inform them the idea of matching their skills and abilities to the courses that will lead to their right careers based on the standards of labor and workforce,” Vice Governor and PESO Manager Ramon Lacbain II said.

“Our guidance counselors are our staunch partners to make sure that we are able to sustain our desire to see more and more of our province mates being employed,” Lacbain added.

DepEd’s Zambales Division Superintendent Zenia Mostoles told the participants, “Every teacher is a career counselor that is why I encourage all of you to re-echo the things you had learned here to your co-teachers. We all want a functional education program, the same way that we want to secure our students’ future. Through this, we can picture them the actual field of work where they can possibly translate their skills and abilities.” (WLB/CLJD-PIA 3)
