709 summer jobs for students in Zambales

IBA, ZAMBALES. Seven-hundred nine poor but deserving students from Ramon Magsaysay Technological University (RMTU) campuses in this province who were qualified under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) will soon be employed in various government offices and private companies as they ink employment contract earlier this month.

Beneficiaries will be employed this April of 2016 for 20 days. Each beneficiary will receive

PhP 5,700 salary (PhP 285.00 per day) which will come from DOLE (40%) and Zambales Provincial Government (60%). This will amount to total of PhP4,041,300.00.

Vice Gov. /Provincial PESO Manager Ramon G. Lacbain II who leads the orientation on April 11 and 12 highlights major points on program’s beneficiality and implementation.

“Under the administration and full support of Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane Jr., we are actively and continuously implementing SPES to further help students pursue their education at the same time provide them necessary work experience for future job opportunities.” Vice Gov. Lacbain said

In Zambales, from 2013 to 2015, there is a total of 6,111 students from RMTU campuses and other colleges in the province who benefited from the program. This number translates to a total of PhP.23,078,800 amount of wages received by beneficiaries. (TJP)
