President Benigno Simeon Aquino III has sworn into office former Zambales Vice-Governor Anne Marie Gordon as the newest member of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Board of Directors.

First Lady Anne, as she is fondly referred to by Olongapenos, replaces Teodoro del Rosario in the SBMA board for a term that will expire on August 17, 2013.

“Makakaasa ang mga kababayan ko sa Olongapo na maririnig ang kanilang tinig sa SBMA Board,” said FL Anne after the oath taking ceremonies held in Malacanang on Monday, February 20, 2012.

Director Gordon was accompanied by her husband, Olongapo Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. Director Gordon said she is fully aware of the sacrifices and the valuable contribution of the Olongapo volunteers to the conversion of the former US naval base into a premier Freeport.

She also noted that the appointment of a representative of Olongapo to the SBMA Board this year is doubly significant since the Freeport will mark on November 24 this year the 20th anniversary of the US turnover of the Subic base to the Philippine government.
