YOUNG MAN DROWNS IN SUBIC’S EL KABAYO FALLS (SBN Exclusive!)

SUBIC FREEPORT – The lifeless body of a 21-year-old male has been recovered around 7:30 PM tonight by Philippine Cost Guard (PCG) divers at El Kabayo Falls here after over three hours of search & retrieval operations.

Authorities identified the victim as Marlon Patron of Maceda St., Sampaloc, Manila.

Investigations revealed that Patron and eight other companions dropped by this freeport to cap a weekend outing at Potipot Island, Candelaria, Zambales, over 123 kms. north of Subic Bay. His companions, all safe and sound, were identified as Joseph Oraiz, RJ Privado, Ferdinand & Margarette Aguilar, Christine Que, Joey Sanchez, August Ramirez and Gian Carlo Lim, all from Metro-Manila.

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Tourism authorities, which allegedly hosted the group, has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Investigators said  their investigations are geared to determine if there was foul play and/or negligence that resulted to the fatal incident. (Vic V. Vizcocho, Jr.) -30-
