Korean Gov’t, Phl Carabao Center to boost farmers’ co-op
The Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) together with the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) has turned over P1.1-million worth of equipment to the Nueva Ecija Federation of Dairy Carabaos Cooperative (NEFEDCCO).
The equipment was turned over last week in a ceremony at the NEFEDCCO processing plant in Barangay San Ricardo in Talavera town with KOICA resident representative Kim Jinoh and PCC Deputy Director Felomino Mamuad in attendance. Fifty aluminum milk cans with 40-liter capacity each were also distributed to select dairy farmer-members. The improved milk processing system is expected to enhance the daily operation of NEFEDCCO.
“The project, which was made possible through the technical assistance of engineer Dal Sun Park, consists of one unit of refrigerated container van and sanitary centrifugal pump in the NEFEDCCO processing plant. This will accommodate more milk from NEFEDCCO’s primary cooperative-members, ensure food safety and quality of milk, and eliminate cleaning-in-place problems,” said PCC Information Officer Rowena Galang-Bumanlag.
Project documents say this initiative supports the objective of the government in fast tracking the dairy development in Nueva Ecija. (WLB/CLJD-PIA 3)
