Child from ‘Gapo places 1st in Reg Pantawid Pamilya Poster Making Contest

11-year old Rhynz Mark Atencio from barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City placed first in the 2013 Regional Tagisan ng Galing at Talino poster making contest amongst Pantawid Pamilya children beneficiaries.
Atencio bested 12 other entrants from provinces and cities across Central Luzon which earned him P5,000 and a certificate of recognition.
“My work depicts a child who will someday become the boss of a big company and that child is me. Through the help of the Pantawid Pamilya, I will be able to pursue my dreams,” Atencio shared.
Angelyn Ross Soriano also from barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo city finished second while John Mark Tabago from Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija ended third.
“The contest aims to encourage the children beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilya to be responsible not only in complying with the conditions of the program but more so in becoming outstanding citizens,” Department of Social Welfare and Development Assistant Regional Director for Operations Maura dela Rosa said.
A board of judges composed of Philippine Information Agency Regional Director William Beltran, God’s Love Executive Director Pastor Edwin Villanueva, and Department of Health Regional Health Supervisor Dr. Maravia de Guzman evaluated the entries. (CLJD/RBRP-PIA 3)
