CL DOLE posts 94% SENA settlement rate
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) posted a 94% settlement rate of labor disputes in Central Luzon from January to October this year through its Single Entry Approach (SENA).
“The high resolution rate can be attributed to the settlement of 1,134 out of 1,208 requests for assistance (RFAs) filed before Single Entry Approach Desk Officers which paved the way for 2,491 workers in Central Luzon to have their monetary claims amounting to over PhP36 million,” DOLE Regional Director Ana Dione said.
This figure likewise represented the biggest portion of the 1,208 total RFAs disposed, recording an astonishing 100% overall disposition rate for the period in review.
Among the seven provinces, the Bulacan SENA desk recorded the highest settlement, which reached PhP19.25 million for 685 workers.
This was followed by Pampanga at PhP5.03 million for 435 workers; Bataan- PhP3.57 million for 535 workers; Zambales- PhP3.56 million for 642 workers; Nueva Ecija- PhP2.28 million for 65 workers; Tarlac- PhP2.03 million for 277 workers; and Aurora- PhP74, 591 for 65 workers.
In addition, the Regional Office also settled cases with claims reaching PhP180, 760 for 19 workers.
SENA is one of DOLE’s answers President Benigno Aquino III’s directive of reforming labor arbitration and adjudication system.
Under it, SENA desk officers must resolve all cases referred to them within 30 days without the need to go through the tedious litigation process. (PIA 3)
