DTI: Buy only Christmas Lights with PS, ICC Stickers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) called on Kapampangan consumers to buy only Christmas lights bearing the Philippine Standard (PS) or Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers.

“These marks are assurance of quality and proof that the products are regularly being monitored by our agency. These are difficult to copy as we change the security features very often,” DTI Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio said.

PS marks are for locally manufactured items while ICC are used for imported ones.

“Substandard Christmas lights maybe cheaper but they pose danger to the lives and properties of consumers as they can cause fire,” Ordonio emphasized.

In partnership with the Philippine Product Safety and Quality Foundation, DTI has confiscated and publicly destroyed a number of substandard and uncertified products coming from the cities of Mabalacat and San Fernando. (CLJD/JGB-PIA 3)
