Olongapo bags overall crown of 12th Central Luzon First Aid and CPR/AED Olympics
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Olongapo bested 19 other rescue teams from local government units and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to claim the overall crown of the 12th Central Luzon First Aid and CPR/AED (cardiopulmonary resuscitation/automated external defibrillator) Olympics.
The highly-urbanized city’s delegation topped the CPR/AED and Situation Analysis events and got high marks in the other two: Bandaging, and Lifting and Moving.
“The annual First Aid and CPR/AED Olympics seeks to promote and enhance safety awareness and health as well as strengthen our partnership with local DRRMCs and the private sector during disaster response,” Office of Civil Defense Regional Director and Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) chair Josefina Timoteo said.
“The Tarlac Recreational Park served as host of this year’s Olympics which is among the highly anticipated events in the observance of National Disaster Consciousness Month every July,” Timoteo added.
Winners in CPR/AED per category were Bulacan (Province), Olongapo (City), Sta. Maria in Bulacan (Municipal), and Multiply Paper Ventures Inc. (NGO).
Moreover, victors in Situation Analysis per category were Bulacan (Province), Olongapo (City), Norzagaray in Bulacan (Municipal), and Multiply Paper Ventures Inc. (NGO).
Named Best in Bandaging, on the other hand, were Bulacan (Province), San Fernando (City), Bulakan in Bulacan (Municipal), and Multiply Paper Ventures Inc. (NGO).
And lastly, hailed as Best in Lifting and Moving per category were Bulacan (Province), Cabanatuan (City), Sta. Maria in Bulacan (Municipal), and Multiply Paper Ventures Inc. (NGO). (CPIA 3)
