PACIFIC UNITY CLOSING CEREMONIES

Members of the Philippine Air Force and U.S Air Force have teamed up to build a new schoolhouse and renovate multiple school buildings of Cacatud Elementary school in Malabacat as part of Pacific Unity which kicked off on August 20 and will end with closing ceremonies on September 20.

Pacific Unity is a U.S. Pacific Command – funded Humanitarian Assistance mission, which includes a bilateral Engineering Civic Action Program (ENCAP).  This exercise is conducted in the Philippines in collaboration with civil authorities and military  personnel.

The recent humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in response to the flooding in the Philippines have demonstrated the importance of building relationships and promoting interoperability between regional militaries to ensure that we are prepared to help one another if required when disaster strikes.

Pacific Unity helps cultivate common bonds, foster goodwill and improve relationships between the U.S. and the Philippines by conducting bilateral humanitarian and civic assistance operations.
