Subic EnerZone Corp., Aboitiz Foundation, DepEd sign SSES Development MOA
Subic EnerZone Corporation (SEZ), Aboitiz Foundation, and the Department of Education recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the development of Special Science Elementary School (SSES) program at the Ilalim Elementary School in Olongapo City
Representing SEZ in the signing were AVP & General Manager Warell Kern Sario, Human Resource Manager Mars Escobar and Reputation Enhancement Specialist Jeff Figuerrez.
Dep Ed was represented by Schools Division Superintendent OIC Bernadette Tamayo, Asst Schools Division Superintendent Samson Buqueron, Public Schools District Supervisors Jesusima Facal and Nestor Balois, and principal of Ilalim Elem. School Marina Deniega. Also present in the event were City Councilor Benjamin Cajudo, Barangay Captain Gilbert Durago and SEZ Representatives Kristine Griva and Robin Geronimo.
Development of SSES is a joint project by SEZ and the Aboitiz Foundation with the Department of Education, that was launched in 2013.
Previous projects include Armchair donation, Science Laboratory Refurbishment, Equipment and Thin Client System donations, Teachers’ Training,and Refurbishment of Computer Laboratory .
This 2016, SEZ will continue to support the School in its campaign to convert it into a science-based school. At least two (2) teachers will be sent for training. SEZ will continue to provide learning materials to students such as Science Reference Materials, Mobile Computer Aided Reinforcement for teaching packages and financial assistance to some 35 SSES pupils already identified.
Financial assistance include uniform, allowance, and school supplies . The total amount for the project is P920,000.00 excluding the construction of a 6-classroom two-storey building .
The SSES Building construction will be implemented this year provided that the school will raise the 30% counterpart of the total project cost for the building.
