ChriSMiles: A Simple Act of Kindness

SM’s ChriSMiles is an annual “Share Your Blessings” activity of SM Olongapo employees that helps extend the joy of Christmas and touch the lives of those in need. This year, a total of 58 SM employees voluntarily shared their remuneration in donating school supplies, toys and food.

This year’s beneficiaries, Aeta children of Mampueng, Libas and New Cabalan tribes, grades 1-6 had the opportunity to experience Christmas party in the mall. They were treated to movies and mingled with the famous “Shrek” mascot. As Christmas Angels, these Aeta kids also received loot bags from SM employees and enjoyed the parlor games prepared for them. Snacks were distributed before the program started.

SM Olongapo did the same activity in 2012 and 2013, where Helping Hands Healing Hearts Ministries Phils. and Jireh Homes, both residential and community based mission for sick filipino children and their families received gifts from the benevolent employees of SM.

“Through this simple activity yet with great impact to our brothers and sisters in need, we can barely say that we have completed the essence of Christmas in our lives,” said Dang Lo, HR Manager of SM City Olongapo. “We are humbled, honored and grateful for these kids and their tribe, such beautiful people inside and out, thank you for celebrating Christmas with SM.” (PR-SMOL)
