IBA, Zambales — A total of 46 residents of San Antonio town graduated from the Technical-Vocational trainings on Dressmaking and Beauty Care of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

β€œThe training was made possible through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD, in partnership with ATEC Technological College,” DSWD Regional Director Gemma Gabuya said.

Dressmaking graduates received high-speed sewing machines and sewing materials while Beauty Care completers got foot spa machines and manicure-pedicure tools.

β€œSLP helps disadvantaged communities in their socio-economic capacity through interventions like strengthening skills, competencies, abilities and resources of poor Filipino families that will be generated into a sustainable source of income,” Gabuya furthered.

Beneficiaries may opt to enroll in either the micro-enterprise development track or the employment facilitation track after engaging themselves in capacity-building drills.

The municipal government promised to provide additional capital or investment to graduates and will also look into the possibility of establishing a souvenir shop featuring products of dressmaking graduates.(PIA 3)
