P2.5 Million Med Equipment to Olongapo

The City of Olongapo recently received some P2.5 million worth medical equipment from a German foundation. Lotus Hilfsprogramme headed by Chairman Heinrich Treutner, has conducted the inspection of the shipment in the Port of Manila, together with city government representatives.
The donation, facilitated by Dr. Amy Sanchez, president of the Association for Differently Abled Persons Zambales Inc. and Architect Tony Karr Balde III of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), reached Olongapo last week and were formally turned over by Toni Wülkow, Truetner’s representative to the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Jesse Jewel Manuel, hospital administrator of James L Gordon Memorial Hospital said that the equipment would help greatly the medical services of the Hospital.
“As you know the city is low in cash that is why we are very thankful for the donation from Lotus Hilfsprogramme” Manuel said.
Among the medical equipment that were donated were 1 mobile electro-cardiogram system, 10 units blood sugar measuring system instrument, 3 units of dialysis machine, 2 units of dental chairs, 4 units of breath-therapy device and one unit lung function machine and other hospital items like gloves and syringes.
Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino has conveyed appreciation to Treutner and Wurlow for the donation saying “the equipment would be of great help for patients especially those who cannot afford to go to private hospitals.”
Meanwhile, Paulino has implemented “Project SMILE” upon assuming office last year.
