The Dept. of Environment & Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) has issued an amended Environmental Compliance Certificate for the planned 600 MW Power Plant Project of Redondo Peninsula Energy (RP Energy) in Subic.

RP Energy issued the following statement on the issuance of an amended ECC: “Redondo Peninsula Energy, Inc. (RP Energy) is pleased to inform you that it has been issued an amended Environmental Compliance Certificate or ECC for the 2x300MW power plant project at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

The issuance of the amended ECC is a major milestone towards the completion of the project that we hope will ease theburden of Filipino consumers who need stable, reliable, environmentally-responsible and cost-efficient power in their homes and businesses.

This ECC amendment is recognition of our strict adherence to the DENR-Environmental Management Bureau’s guidelines and our commitment to complying with the law. More importantly, getting the ECC amendment further strengthens our commitment to strictly adhere to the permiting process and onwards to ensuring that the project’s construction and eventual operation is environmentally-compliant and state-of-the-art.”
