SBMA Chairman & Administrator Roberto V. Garcia delivered his State Of the Freeport Address (pls. click this link to view SOFA in full) at the Subic Bay Exhibit & Convention Center on Monday, 18 March 2013.

Citing inroads in revenue generation and good governance, among others, Garcia predicts a better 2013.

He also reiterated that his plan to convert Subic International Airport into a Sentosa-like theme park “has been cancelled at the moment” to give way to the national government’s plan to use it as base of over a dozen new Air Force jets that are scheduled to be delivered to the country in the coming months.

Mediamen present observed that Garcia delivered a “good report” before a “poor crowd” in terms of numbers, as the host Subic Bay Freeport Chamber of Commerce (SBFCC) failed to muster attendance from  investors and locators.

Despite the presence of SBMA employees, the event was a sorry sight as only around some 200 people showed up at SBECC which could be seen as a manifestation of poor leadership and continuously dwindling support to the chamber’s “perpetual” officers . SBN/VVVphotos

Empty chairs marked the State of the Freeport Address of SBMA Chairman & Administrator Roberto V. Garcia as the host Subic Bay Freeport Chamber of Commerce (SBFCC) failed to muster attendance from investors and locators disgruntled by the "perpetual" officers of the organization.
